The objective of this course is to enable learners to acquire the knowledge to demonstrate and apply understanding of cleaning methods and processes, facilitate personal and team effectiveness by working in teams effectively and also to improve the organisation’s performance.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Implement various cleaning methods and techniques for cleaning improve productivity in the workplace
  • Interpret cleaning requirement according to the organisation standards and procedures
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the cleaning processes, identify improvements and make recommendations

Learners are assumed to have:

  • Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy level 1 and above.
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level 1 and above.
  • 16 hours of classroom and practical training.
  • 1 hour of assessment including written, oral, and practical assessment.

This unit covers the following knowledge items:

  1. Organisational policies and procedures which provide clarification or assistance in relation to communication at all levels within the organisation
  2. Individual role and accountability for leading effective communication within the team
  3. Types of constructive feedback
  4. Team member roles and accountability for contributing to effective communication within the team
  5. Characteristics of diversity and its impact on the relationship among team members
  6. Communication techniques to facilitate a discussion
  7. Methods to coach staff in using effective communication techniques
  8. Factors affecting the effectiveness of an implementation plan
  9. Methods used to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solution and implementation plan
  10. Methods used to identify deficiency in the implemented solution
  • Employees currently in a supervisory or team leader roles with the technical skills and knowledge to supervise cleaning operations and cleaning operators.
  • The working adults or mid-career change workers who are keen to join the environmental services industry.
